Atlanta asks historic churches to move for new downtown stadium
Tue Apr 30, 2013
Churches shouldn't be getting a tax exemption. The sports teams shouldn't be getting tax funded stadiums. The dome is only 20 years old. If a new one has to be built every 20 years I think it works out to about $5M per home game per year!?
Op-ed attacking colleges that rejected her was 'satire,' student says
Thu Apr 4, 2013
My question is why did she apply to so many schools. I though it cost $50-$100 to apply? Seems like she just wanted to say she was accepted to so many. Which ironically may be why she didn't get into some schools: they already sent acceptances to a bunch of people who applied to several schools and …

Whether you're mixing straight men and straight women or gay men and gay men or gay women and gay women in close quarters this is the sort of tragedy that results. Looking for a big increase in the minimum wage? Don't bank on it

"Roads and bridges" are 20th century projects. The 21st century needs a smart electrical grid, universal gigabit internet, shipping infrastructure to support same day delivery for online orders, and so on. Roads and bridges are for commuters, the future is telecommuters.
3 reasons why US rich don't give more to charity
Tue Mar 12, 2013
My three reasons: 1. I pay a massive amount of taxes that is supposedly being spent to help the poor already. 2. I don't trust most charities and prefer to donate directly to people I know genuinely need and deserve it. 3. Most of my money is invested in productive enterprises that create jobs and w …
White House: North Korea nuclear test 'highly provocative'
Tue Feb 12, 2013
They don't need a rocket. Al Qaeda will be happy to carry it wherever they want it to go. The Iraq war and the 1% doctrine were exactly about avoiding this situation. NK can soon hold the world hostage to make sure they're given all the food and oil they want.
North Korea: Rocket launches, nuclear tests will 'target' US
Wed Jan 23, 2013
They don't need a missile. Al Qaeda will be happy to deliver it for them!
'A big catch': Record two tons of ivory seized in Kenya
Wed Jan 16, 2013
Along the same lines they could surgically remove the tusks, replace with prostethics, and sell the ivory to pay for it all. That way the elephants stay safe until the idiots in asia get a clue. Alternatively, yes, they could just flood the ivory market with synthetic ivory to drive the price to zer …

Military mom 'proud' of breast-feeding in uniform, despite criticism
No, it's inappropriate.
Was your parental leave long enough?
It was too long! I couldn't wait to get back to work.
There's a simple solution: make social security personal accounts and then allow people to draw from that savings for parental leave, short term disability, or unemployment. That way it's impossible to abuse and each person can decide for themselves how much leave is enough. But the notion that some …
